As I approached the age of 50 (just yesterday –  well almost) I decided that I should do some physical activity to get back into shape. Running was the chosen option to join in with my wife and get me going.
1st Half Marathon was in Ottawa in May 2005
1st Marathon was the following year in Toronto in 2006
I have now completed 6 marathons – including Chicago, New York and Bermuda.
To add to this I began hiking adventures in 2007  – usually in challenging Terrain’s – and have now hiked Mount Washington, NH twice and the Grand Canyon 4 times.
I do want it noted that I was 3rd in the Clydesdale Male Group for the 5 Peaks Trail Race – long run in June 2009.
I use my workouts with Michael Finigan to provide a balance to my conditioning and support the my running endeavors.

I am a 69 year old who has been running for over 35 years and have also been involved in various other athletic activities, some of which are listed below:

Along with running:

* At age 56 became a Certified Open Water Scuba Diver

* Between ages 56 and 61 was extensively involved in mountain biking (for recreation only)

* Between ages 56 and 61 taught Spinning Classes (stationery bike) at Whitby Recreation Centre

* At age 60 did my first sky dive from 10,500 ft.

* At age 61 ran first full marathon – Toronto Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon

* At age 62 ran Toronto International Marathon

* At age 64 ran the Ing New York Marathon

* At age 66 ran the Bank of America Chicago Marathon

* At age 67 ran the Bermuda Triangle Marathon Weekend, consisting of 1 mile first night, 10k the second day and a full Marathon on the final day

* At age 67 hiked the Grand Canyon down and back up in one day

* At age 68 hiked the Grand Canyon for a second time

* At age 69 will start training for Ing New York Marathon, which I will run when I turn 70

During all these years I have run over 30 half marathons and various other distances.

I have been training with Mike on a personal trainer level and also in a group setting. He has helped me overcome injuries and helped me in my core training to ensure that I would be able to accomplish all these goals. His knowledge is vast and if he does not have an answer for you right away, he will research it until he does. I am more than pleased with what he has helped me cross off my “bucket list”.

Began training with Pursuit Training during the 2009 Summer, since then:
I have been playing triple hockey for my entire minor hockey career, but Pursuit Training allowed me to take my abilities to the next step, and compete with the best talent in Ontario at the OHL Cup as a member of the Markham Waxers Minor Midget AAA Hockey Team in 2010
I lead my St. Mary Monarchs to a LOSSA Championship, and a birth in the All Ontario tournament in 2011.
I also was able to be a two time Midget Allstar as a member of the Ajax Pickering Raiders Midget Hockey Team in 2011-2012
I was named Captain for the Ajax Pickering Raiders, and Assistant Captain for the St. Mary Monarchs.
After my minor hockey career ended, I am now apart of the Uxbridge Bruins Jr C Hockey Club during the 2012-2013 campaign.
I helped my team finish first place in the league, and are now heading into playoffs.
Pursuit Training has allowed me to become physically strong, explosive and dynamic in all movements and strides that come with being a hockey player. But, I have also become a very mentally strong competitor due to the confidence that I have gained since working with Mike.
